Nintendo’s Black Wii Console Is Proving To Be A Popular Choice

There is absolutely no point in arguing about which is the best games console. Everybody has their own favourite - the PS3, the XBox or the Wii, not to mention the various portable games consoles. If you have more than one kid, there’s a fair chance that you might wind up with all of the big three consoles anyway.

However, I do think it’s fair to say that, of the three main consoles, the Wii is the most sociable. There’s something about all that jumping around and waving your arms around that just seems to make it more fun when you’re in a group of people. That’s one of the reasons why you’ll often find the Wii console in the family living room rather than tucked away upstairs in a teenager’s bedroom - which is where most PS3s and Xbox consoles tend to be found.

The other thing that could be a factor is that, somewhat ironically given that the Wii has the least realistic graphics, Wii games seem to be much better on a big screen. Maybe it’s the motion or something - but they’re much better.

Nintendo brought out a black Wii limited edition bundle which was released in Europe at the back end of 2009. It seems to have been a big hit with customers and is more popular than the standard white version. That could be just because it’s relatively new of course. On the other hand, it could just as easily be because the black console matches the other items in the living room - the TV, the DVD player, the cable box etc.
