    Commercial Pilots Lisense

    January 28th, 2010 by admin

A commercial pilot’s license is one that allows you to fly compensated or to fly for hire. Commercial pilots often work for cross-country airlines, but there are many who work for courier companies, and for companies that offer the services of a private jet. It is also necessary to get a commercial pilot’s license if you will be flying rotor aircrafts, gliders, powered parachutes, powered lifts, etc. for hire.In order to get your commercial pilot’s license, you must first have your private pilot’s license.

Some of the basic requirements of getting a commercial pilot’s license include the applicant must be at least 18 years of age, have at least 250 hours of training under Part 61 or have 190 hours of flight training under part 14, pass an written test, and pass an oral test. It is also important that the applicant speak, write, and understand the English language.

Some training will involve the use of a boeing 747 flight simulator.Once you have your private pilot’s license, you can now begin the process of becoming a commercial pilot. You will need to meet several requirements including age and hours of training. You also need to pass a written exam as well as an oral exam. Commercial pilots are also required to pass a medical examination. Those who want to become a commercial pilot or even a private and a recreational pilot need to pass a third class medical exam. This includes tests for your sight, hearing, ENT health, heart health, and mental status.

A commercial pilot can later on test to become an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP). ATPs are valid to become a pilot-in-command for airline operations. To qualify for ATP consideration, you must log at least 1500 hours of flight time and that should include 100 hours night time flights, 75 hours of instrument, and 500 hours of cross-country flights. A minimum age of 23 is also required.
