The Modern Day You and Me Against The World

My brother and I grew up in a very sheltered and conservative environment. Last month, we went to the province to see our cousins. I needed to still have a connection with my peers at work so I asked my techie sibling on how to connect cell phone to computer for internet, just in case they have computers there. Sure, they have. Soon as we reach our destination, we saw our cousin and he was rushing towards us to relay the good news– he is getting married. I asked him to sat down as my brother offered to teach him how to connect bravia internet link for us to view his wedding photos. And here are the things we saw, in my most vivid narrative: He snagged up his pants, a hand-me-down securely tied around his waist by a belt he wears since 6th grade, of an undefined color, impossible to make out because it was either faded with use over the years, or simply unwashed and dirty, cautiously picked his way through the lush embankment, and ran along the weedy track by the pond with a familiar ease to go and tell his mother about the great news. After hurdling the grassy land of his town, he stepped into the village where his girlfriend stays. A proposal would not far behind. And then, the good news was told. Soon after, they secretly got married at the City Hall with 2 of their closest friends as the witnesses. Revelation of this incident came as crumpled paper into the hearts of their parents. They were both disowned and were obliged to leave the comforts of their homes immediately.
